Mechanical engineer by day, photographic artist at heart. My weekdays are spent developing mining and heavy industry equipment. My photo art allows me to tap in to a softer side of my creativity.
Why do I call it “photo art” instead of simply photography? Photography is an umbrella term that covers a spectrum of photographic genres - from the true-to-life accuracy of photojournalism to the surreal digital creations of graphic design. I work somewhere in between the extremes, unbridled from the “observe and report” expectation of absolute realism, but careful not to venture too far from the truth. I strive to create visually captivating art in which taking a picture is just one part of the creative process.
